Fresh off of opening up for Childish Gambino in Denver and St. Louis, Chance The Rapper returned home on June 8th, 2012 for his third show in four nights. This one, however, marked a special point in Chance’s young career – his first headlining show. When we arrived at Lincoln Hall about an hour before doors opened to interview the performing artists, the line was down the block and the marquee read “Tonight Sold Out.” After solid showings from DJ Iggy, St. Millie and ShowYouSuck, Chance took the stage. For the next hour, the young emcee put on one of the most memorable performances I’ve ever seen, assisted by the likes of DJ Stefan Ponce, Peter Cottontale, Lili K, Alex Wiley, Kembe X, Vic Mensa, Nico Segal, Sulaiman and Caleb James. The show came to a climatic ending to the tune of Chance’s track “Fuck You Tahm Bout,” and as the lights came on after and the 500+ occupants began to file out, Chance took to the mic one last time and announced that he would be signing autographs for anyone who wanted one after the show – determined to give his fans every last bit of energy he had in him. If you didn’t have the opportunity to attend 10 Day Live, or are just looking to relive the experience, we put together this recap of the event alongside our friends at CMR Creative, enjoy.
