By now, unless you live under a rock, you know the story of T.I. You know about the movies, the jail time, the stellar albums (Trap Muzik & King) and the not so great ones (yeah about No Mercy…). But after finally getting the proper time to craft an album he felt comfortable with, “the King back”. Featuring a dream cast (man I miss 2k with Ivo on the cover) of Meek Mill, Pink, A$AP Rocky, Lil’ Wayne, Cee-Lo, R. Kelly, Andre 3000 (on what may be the verse of the year), and Akon, Trouble Man digs deep into the psyche of the devoted family man who still struggles with the need to be a real person. As he introspectively proclaims “Sometimes I ain’t get in trouble, trouble got in me”, Tip spends the length of the album not only explaining his faults and transgressions, but evaluating and accepting them. As the canvas is laid by the vivid backdrops of producer greats Cardiak, DJ Toomp, No I.D., Pharrell Williams, and T-Minus, T.I. not only paints a clear portrait of a Trouble Man, he re-establishes himself as one of the game’s best emcees.
